The 5K (ish) Event
The Chew Valley Santa Scramble is a simple concept; its a 5k (and a bit) run around the Chew Valley with all of us dressed as Santa. What’s not to like?!
The run, we’re not calling it a race even though we know it will be, will start and finish at Chew Valley School, Chew Lane, Chew Magna, BS40 8QB – taking a cross-country route behind the rugby club, down Dairy Way, then along Walleycourt Road, past the pumping station belonging to Bristol Water where they’ll be opportunities for views across the Lake. Next we drop down Denny Lane, through the fields behind Tunbridge Close and back around returning to the adoring crowds at the school passing Chota Castle.
Each and every entrant gets a FREE Santa suit to use for the run, which you get to keep for your own personal use on other occasions… like say Christmas!
The 1K Mini Scramble
The 1K Mini Santa Scramble is all about taking part, everyone is a winner and gets a medal to prove it and whilst being hotly contested there are no World Records set when you’re dressed like Santa!
The 1k route is entirely contained within the school site and at no point are the Santas out of sight but Parents and Carers are most welcome to run alongside their child we just ask that in the spirit of Christmas adults are dressed as Santa.
The route below is possible with kind permission of the local landowners, farmers and Bristol Water:
